QPR run rule over former Portsmouth hitman Webber

QPR have handed a trial to former Portsmouth frontman Danny Webber, reports the Fulham and Hammersmith Chronicle. The 29-year-old is a free agent after quitting the Championship outfit this summer and is training with the R's.

Boss Neil Warnock is desperate to add some more firepower to his squad before the season gets underway next month, and has been linked with a move for Jay Bothroyd and DJ Campbell.

But the Rangers boss has given Webber, who played under him at Sheffield United, the chance to earn a deal at Loftus Road.
