QPR plan to outbid Newcastle for Celtic striker Hooper

QPR are joining the transfer battle for Celtic striker Gary Hooper.

The Mirror says Rs boss Neil Warnock wants to beat rival bidders Newcastle United for Hooper with a £7 million offer, the ex-Scunthorpe hitman whose goals in the SPL have not gone unnoticed by Three Lions chief Fabio Capello.

The Hoops will have loads of money to buy some top talent in the New Year and Warnock is keen to see off Leicester City and Newcastle.

Celtic rejected an approach from the wealthy Foxes at the end of the last window, but face an awkward task if they are tested by a Premier League club in January.
