QPR and Crystal Palace are chasing Stoke City striker Peter Crouch.
The Daily Express says Crouch is out of contract in the summer and while manager Mark Hughes is keen to hand him a new deal, the Stoke hierarchy is reluctant to support the idea of an extension.
QPR manager Harry Redknapp has worked with Crouch on four previous occasions at clubs and is keen to bolster his side's bid to beat the drop by moving for him again.
Competition will come from Palace boss Neil Warnock, who is looking to sign a target man for his club's own battle for survival.
