QPR owner Tony Fernandes says it's critical the club not rely on him as a benefactor.
He insists that developing the club will be done without the kind of subsidies that have underpinned Manchester City and Chelsea's revivals.
"Let's say I get hit by a bus tomorrow and my kids have no interest in QPR. If I was just a benefactor, then that's the end," says Fernandes, whose fortune is valued at a mere £275m.
"I want to make sure the club has the infrastructure to carry on. Big clubs like Manchester United have done that."
