QPR's Italian owner Flavio Briatore has backed American billionaire George Soros' takeover push for Roma.

"I think it is a positive thing," insisted Briatore. "It shows that our country is appetising and that maybe the atmosphere has changed.

"It is possible that in turn gives the idea that the rules will change, too. If someone wants to invest in Italy it is a good sign. It means people have faith in the system."

Unlike the Premiership, none of the Serie A clubs have a majority shareholder from overseas.
