Darren Ambrose is staying with Crystal Palace - for now.
Ambrose, who was on his way to rivals QPR for £800,000 to help pay players' wages, was told the move was off.
With Palace due to be sold, administrator Brendan Guilfoyle said: "As long as negotiations continue to move forward, we are prepared to suspend the sale of players.
"We were asked by CPFC not to sell anyone and that has happened. We are still negotiating the funding agreement but funds ARE in place to move this situation forward again."
