QPR midfielder Joey Barton has declared he now wants to be referred to as 'Joe'.

Barton - who is currently serving a 12-match ban after being sent off for his attacks at Manchester City last season - has declared this morning that he should now simply be called 'Joe'.

He wrote on Twitter: "How I wish the mass media had christened me Joe instead of Joey. I hate Joey, not going to lie. Nobody I respect calls me it... #justsaying. Really couldn't be a**** correcting everyone that calls me Joey."
