QPR may battle to get back to Premier League - Fernandes

QPR chairman Tony Fernandes admits the club may take a couple of season to bounce back to the Premier League.

The West London club were relegated to the Championship following last week's 0-0 draw with fellow relegation side Reading and Fernandes is not eyeing a swift return to the top flight as he looks to go down a different path for the future of the Loftus Road club.

"It might take us two or three seasons," he told BBC Sport.

"We may have to [play the long game]. And there are a couple of things that we're looking at. Do we invest in lots and lots of young players like Aston Villa?

"We have to go for the long term, we may not come up straight away.

"But we'll get the infrastructure of the players right. We've got everything else right in terms of the brand, in terms of the exposure, the plans for the training ground, the stadium. We've just got to get that player infrastructure right."
