QPR are willing to make Joey Barton their first ever £100,000-a-week player.
The Sun says the Newcastle United midfielder, 28, wants to stay in the North East but has not been given a contract extension.
The reformed hellraiser is having reluctant talks with the Premier League new boys - despite being offered a £5million deal worth £100,000 a week.
Barton was transfer-listed after a bust-up with Toon boss Alan Pardew.
He said on Twitter: "I'm going for a medical now. Still no contract offer from Newcastle. Think that just about makes my mind up.
"I'll talk to QPR because Newcastle don't want me. I don't want to leave."
