QPR make attempt for Stoke veteran Crouch

QPR boss Harry Redknapp is chasing Stoke City striker Peter Crouch.

QPR boss Harry Redknapp is chasing Stoke City striker Peter Crouch.

The Sunday Mirror says Crouch, who played for Redknapp at Spurs, Portsmouth and Southampton, is wanted by Redknapp as a centre-forward option.

But the problem for Redknapp is QPR chairman Tony Fernandes does not want to employ too many veterans on big wages, especially after Ferdinand’s arrival on a free transfer from Manchester United.

Crouch is inside the final year of his Potters deal.
