He said: "When you bring in so many players it is very difficult, especially in defensive areas because a defence needs to play together for a long time to get that understanding in.
"It's not quite gelling for them. But I am sure with the talent that Mark has that it will come sooner or later.
"Any incoming manager might not like half of the players that Mark bought in the summer.
"Now do you spend another fistful of money on replacing them?
"The chairman has trusted Mark with that money and he has to trust him now. I am sure he will he turn it around."
