QPR keeper Green admits he was lucky not to see red

QPR keeper Rob Green admits he was fortunate to stay on the pitch in the 1-1 draw with Swansea at Loftus Road on New Year's Day. The 34-year-old appeared to handle the ball outside his penalty area when Wayne Routledge sped through on goal.

Green told QPR's official website: "It's one where Routledge didn't get to the ball as quick as I thought he would and unfortunately I slid out of the box a little bit too far, and that's it.

"But nobody saw it, and I got away with it I guess. It's something that happens so quickly, and it's a very tough job for the referee.

"There's not really a lot I can do - once I start sliding, I start sliding. As much as I might try to get out of the way, it's inevitable, really.

"There's a feeling of frustration for us. We had a chance less than a minute before they scored to take the ball into the corner and try to kill the game.

"But we didn't and 45 seconds later Bony has got about half a yard of space in the box, and that's all he needs. It's a fantastic finish from him."
