QPR hero Bradley Allen has backed Tim Sherwood for the manager's job.

The former Tottenham manager is expected to be confirmed in the coming days.

Allen said: "Tim deserves an awful lot of credit for his brief spell in charge of the Spurs first team last season.

"He won a tremendous amount of points and narrowly missed out on Champions League football.

"He has been patient and is waiting for the opportunity.

"It appears QPR are looking for an ambitious, young boss and Tim fits the bill.

"He is ready, refreshed and energised."
