QPR fined over China brawl

QPR have been fined £20,000 and assistant coach Richard Hill has been suspended until September 30 following a Football Association hearing into their fracas with the Chinese Olympic team last season.

R's players and officials were involved in the training ground brawl on February 9 and the club admitted a charge of failing to ensure their players and/or officials conducted themselves in an orderly fashion.

A separate charge of violent conduct against Hill was found proved and he has been suspended from all footballing activity with immediate effect.

"At a disciplinary commission hearing on Friday, Queens Park Rangers were fined £40,000 for their involvement in a brawl on February 9, £20,000 of which is suspended until 31 May 2008. It can be reactivated in full or in part in the event of a proved similar offence," confirmed an FA statement.

"A charge of violent conduct against assistant coach Richard Hill was found proved. He has been suspended from all football and football management until September 30 2007. He has 14 days to appeal."
