QPR boss Neil Warnock fancies making Birmingham City midfielder Lee Bowyer his first signing for the Premier League new boys.
The London Evening Standard says the 34-year-old has spent the past three years at Birmingham City but his deal expires at the end of the campaign and he has yet to agree a new one.
It is understood he has only been offered a one-year contract, while he wants two years. However, QPR are prepared to give him a deal until 2013 as they feel Bowyer's top-flight experience will be valuable to the squad.
The former Leeds, Newcastle and West Ham midfielder has a fiery reputation and was given a three-game ban in January after being found guilty of violent conduct following a clash with Arsenal's Bacary Sagna.
