QPR fail with work permit application for Henrique

QPR have seen their work permit application for Sao Paulo striker Henrique rejected.

The Brazil Under-20 international looked set for a move to Loftus Road in the wake of Mark Hughes' appointment as the club's new manager.

Although QPR had reached agreement with Sao Paulo over a deal, it hinged on the 20-year-old being given the go-ahead to play in England.

A work permit hearing was held today when it was determined Henrique did not satisfy the required criteria.

A QPR spokesman said: "He didn't get a work permit for various reasons."
