Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher believes Adela Taarabt does not fit into QPR's line-up.
The Moroccan playmaker continues to be frustrated by a lack of playing time under Harry Redknapp but Reds great Carragher has defended the decision of the R's boss to keep him out of his XI.
In his Sky Sports preview of QPR's clash with Aston Villa at Loftus Road on Monday night, Carragher said the following of Taarabt.
" the way they played against Liverpool (3-2 loss last week) is a template they need to follow - it was the best they have played this season and they caused their opponents all sorts of problems," Carragehr said.
"I'm not sure Taarabt fits into that as he wants time on the ball and to create things with intricate passes, so, right now, I don't think QPR have a desperate need for him in the team.
"However, if injuries come along, especially to someone like (Bobby) Zamora, they might need to tinker things and Taarabt could be a very useful plan B because he always has one or two tricks up his sleeve."
QPR currently sit on the bottom of the Premier League table with just four points from eight matches.
