QPR dismiss talk of ex-Tottenham boss Redknapp

QPR assistant Mark Bowen has denied claims that Harry Redknapp could soon be on his way to Loftus Road.

The R's are struggling in 19th position on the Premier League table without a victory from ten matches with some reports suggesting that if things don't improve, manager Mark Hughes could be shipped out with former Southampton and Tottenham boss Redknapp as his replacement.

But Hughes' number two told the club's podcast 'Open All Rs' that there are absolutely no plans to get rid of the Welshman to bring in Redknapp.

"People talk about Harry Redknapp and this and that. The fact is he took over Southampton in 2005 as the big saviour and he took them down," Bowen said.

"But when things go wrong people say 'get Harry in'.

"We are really surprised and gutted the way it has gone. We expected and wanted better.

"The common denominator is that it has usually taken a few months to get our methods across and way we play.

"But like (chairman) Tony (Fernandes) said, I feel we are the best people for job. The facts, CV and history to prove it. We know our history over the last 10 to 12 years that this will change and we will be successful."
