QPR defender Ferdinand: West Ham Baby Bentley comments still burn

QPR defender Anton Ferdinand admits the 'Baby Bentley' comments from former West Ham United boss Alan Curbishley still rankles.

His return to London comes four years after his then-West Ham boss Curbishley famously accused him of being more interested in cars than winning matches.

"When all that stuff came out about me with the Baby Bentleys it was laughable," said the centre-back. "Hopefully now people would see that wasn't me because I got a hell of a lot of stick off the pitch because of that.

"The offer from Ukraine came in first and it didn't excite me - I'm not someone who goes somewhere because the money was right.

"I'm all about my football. If you do well in football, the money comes to you."
