QPR have returned to Chelsea with a new and improved bid for wantaway defender Alex.
The Brazilian centre-back handed in a transfer request in December and is hoping to depart Stamford Bridge this winter.
Initially, Alex was keen to head back home but is now looking to remain in London with QPR very much in the market for his services.
Sky Sports suggests that an offer made by a Premier League club on Thursday, believed to be the R's, did not meet the Blues' valuation but a second bid is expected has been made as Mark Hughes looks to make his first signing at Loftus Road since taking over from Neil Warnock during the week.
