QPR chiefs working overtime on Beckham deal

QPR remain keen on LA Galaxy midfielder David Beckham.

The Guardian says the Rs are still working on a deal to bring David Beckham to Loftus Road but are conscious that the potential finances and the midfielder's family commitments could make signing the former England captain difficult.

The deal was discussed when Tony Fernandes, the owner, met Neil Warnock, the manager, last Thursday to discuss transfer policy before the January window.

Beckham's current contract with LA Galaxy expires in December. He has been offered a one-year extension by the American club, which he is considering. He is conscious that his children are happy at school in California.

A highly placed source at Loftus Road said: "It will be tough. But let's see."
