QPR chairman Fernandes: Redknapp will stay come what may

QPR owner Tony Fernandes is confident Harry Redknapp will stay if they go down.

QPR have 11 games remaining to save themselves from the drop, with the odds on their survival prospects lengthening.

But they have a run of fixtures approaching against teams also battling away near the foot of the table, and Fernandes refuses to accept relegation as an inevitability.

Fernandes wrote tonight on Twitter: "I am optimistic as ever. I'm still smiling. Its the next 8 games. Lots of good things."

He added: "Good chat with Harry on the future come what may. We know what we have to do. Many points to play for."

Asked by a supporter whether Redknapp would also stay, whatever happens to the team at the end of the campaign, Fernandes replied: "I'm sure he will."
