QPR brace over Sunderland bid for Austin

QPR boss Harry Redknapp is reluctant to lose Charlie Austin.

The Daily Mail says Sunderland are monitoring the situation of Austin and could make a move for the Queens Park Rangers striker this summer.

The 25-year-old missed the final month of last season through injury as Harry Redknapp’s side won promotion from the Championship via the play-offs.

But his goalscoring exploits beforehand haven’t gone unnoticed. Austin netted 28 times for QPR in his first year at Loftus Road – despite also being out for the entirety of January – following a £4million switch from Burnley.
