QPR boss Warnock warns Man City: Don't write-off the old man at Man Utd

QPR boss Neil Warnock feels Manchester City would be wrong to write off the challenge of Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

Warnock says City look title favourites.

He said: "At this stage, I would have to pick City for the title because of their squad, how they play and they will probably strengthen it again in January.

"But I'm a bit too old in the tooth to know that you can start parading the cup when you're five points clear after 10 games.

"You've got to give the old man - I think I can call Sir Alex that - a bit more credit. He's seen and done it all, he's seen these young whippersnappers around his ankles before but he's seen them all off and gets on with his job.

"You can never write him off, especially as it's his 25th anniversary at United.

"I was there with my son James, who's now 30, at that FA Cup game where Mark Robins stooped to score the winner at the City Ground against Nottingham Forest.

"Make no mistake, whatever Martin Edwards or anyone else says, I think Sir Alex was going to go if they had lost that game. That was the turning point because they went on to win the Cup and the rest is history."
