QPR boss Warnock slams pointless international fixtures

QPR boss Neil Warnock has joined the call for change in the number of international matches scheduled claiming many of the clashes are "meaningless" and "pathetic. "I just think it is the meaningless games, which are really [grinding]," he said.

"It is just a financial thing and people wanting to generate money for whatever reason.

"Was it the Dutch team that won 11-0 or something against San Marino?

"That can't happen at international level, something has got to change. You can't just be nice to people and come up with internationals like that.

"[Can you imagine] if you'd had a player playing for Holland and he pulled a hamstring or did an injury and was out for six months in a game that they won 11-0 against San Marino?

"It is your living as a manager [that is affected by this]. You don't want your best players playing in games like that. It is pathetic really."
