QPR boss Neil Warnock remains confident of landing Blackpool striker DJ Campbell.
The London Evening Standard says Warnock is confident he will beat off a late bid by Aston Villa to complete the £1.25million signing of Blackpool striker Campbell in the next few days.
Warnock has made the 29-year-old his top transfer priority and has put pursuing all other targets on hold to ensure the deal is completed.
The QPR boss still hopes to make two or three more signings before their season opener against Bolton next week but Liverpool midfielder Joe Cole won't be one of them.
The former Chelsea midfielder has been linked with a loan move to Loftus Road, with Liverpool prepared to pay some of his wages, but Warnock has ruled out a deal for the England international.
