QPR boss Neil Warnock was surprised by the behaviour of Crystal Palace fans on Saturday.
Both QPR boss Warnock and his Palace counterpart Dougie Freedman made light of an incident which only luck stopped from inflicting physical damage on home goalkeeper Paddy Kenny and should be the subject of an FA inquiry.
Warnock said: "As long as they hit him on the head he'd be all right." But he added: "It's like Millwall, who have a few mindless yobs. I've always found Palace fans terrific." Freedman said: "I don't want to condone what happened but, perhaps if they had seen the TV replays, they would have drunk the beer not thrown it."
