QPR boss Neil Warnock says Anton Ferdinand has benefited from the international break.
Warnock believes the international break has given Ferdinand vital time to put the racism row with Chelsea and England captain John Terry to the back of his mind and focus on football.
"He really defended poorly for the first goal against Manchester City but I wasn't surprised because the days before that, with all that was going on, were a nightmare for him," Warnock told the Evening Standard.
"The international break came at a good time for him. He has had a chance to put it to the back of his mind, get it out of the way and get on with things."
