QPR boss Warnock: Great fun working with Fernandes

QPR boss Neil Warnock admits it's great fun working for chairman Tony Fernandes.

Warnock was speaking with Absolute Radio extra's Rock 'N' Roll Football.

He said: "Well I spoke to Tony before he actually bought the club. He rang me to talk about the club and what my views were about not just the first team but the whole club. The academy, the youth set up, the stadium, the training ground, you name it, and we went through it. I ended up talking to him for about an hour without really knowing him and I'm thinking after when I put the phone down I've just talked to somebody about an hour about things and I don't even know him.

"When it became clear that he was very interested, and we've had many talks since then, and Amit Bhatia coming back, I mean everybody knows Amit Bhatia was instrumental in me coming. So to get Amit back was a massive plus for me because I trust the guy 100 percent. Tony came in. He had his ideas. He asked me about players who I'd like and when I told him a list he said go and get them. I must admit at first, he did mention Scott Parker's name first off because obviously West Ham allegiances. I thought he was joking, and then it was only overnight when I thought he might not be joking and I asked him the following, were you serious about Scott Parker. From that day onwards we've just, we've had a laugh but we've pushed on.

"He's tried to support me whenever he can. If he thinks something's wrong he'll make his point and it's his club, and a couple of the transfers he was instrumental in changing certain things which was good for the club. He's so keen to do well him and his associates, and they're like little boys with a goody bag. I found out it was me that was having to calm them down, not the other way round. It's usually the other way round isn't it?""
