QPR boss Warnock gags Barton ahead of Villa clash

QPR boss Neil Warnock has banned Joey Barton from the media - for now.

The Daily Star says Barton has already felt Warnock's wrath for publicly airing his feud with Wolves hardman Karl Henry following last week's win .

He called Henry "a Sunday league player" and "a mug" on Twitter.

Barton was gagged from talking to the media ahead of today's home clash with Aston Villa.

A QPR source said: "Neil wasn't impressed that Joey's comments had deflected attention from the fact that we enjoyed a brilliant win.

"It was felt that the focus should have been on the team, the club as a whole and our progress, and not solely about Joey and his run-in with Henry."
