QPR boss Warnock does not regret Diouf attack last season

QPR boss Neil Warnock admits he's still no fan of El Hadji Diouf as he prepares to face Blackburn Rovers.

Warnock blasted Diouf for his awful reaction after Jamie Mackie broke his leg in QPR's FA Cup tie at Ewood Park in January.

Warnock insists there is no bad blood between the clubs, but was not surprised Diouf was quickly moved on by Rovers boss Steve Kean.

Warnock said: "Steve after the game was super and as I said to him, 'I don't think he'll be long at your club'. And he wasn't long at their club.

"I don't take anything back about what I said but Blackburn is a very good club. It's a difficult situation with Jamie Mackie but things like that do happen and I don't think there was anything on the day with both sets of players.

"But there was a situation with the one particular, I don't even want to say his name."

Mackie made his return as a substitute in their 6-0 defeat at Fulham just before the international break and Warnock admits he has a battle holding the winger back.

He added: "He's absolutely flying and he'd tell you he's available now.

"We need to be patient with him. It's tempting to throw him in because he works so hard but his time will come."
