QPR boss Neil Warnock rates free signing Jay Bothroyd in the same class as Liverpool's £35 million striker Andy Carroll.
Warnock will build QPR's Premier League survival hopes around Bothroyd after landing the one-cap England striker on a free transfer from Cardiff.
He said: "I look at strikers in the Premier League and people mention Andy Carroll to me and however many millions he cost. Andy Carroll is fantastic in the air, but you cannot tell me he has more about him than Jay Bothroyd when he is on song.
"I think Jay has got everything to fight for his England place and it is really up to him.
"If we don't spend any money, which it does not look like we are going to, staying up would be a massive achievement."
