QPR boss Harry Redknapp says Tottenham gaffed allowing him to take Benoit Assou-Ekotto on-loan.
Redknapp rates the Cameroon left-back inside the top three in the country.
He said: "Benoit's one of the top three left-backs in the country. He's too good for the Championship.
"When I was at Tottenham with him, it was never a case of wondering whether I was going to play him or him or him in that position.
"Benoit played left-back every game and that included Champions League and League Cup finals.
"There's only Ashley Cole and (Leighton) Baines you would put in front of him, and I couldn't think of too many others.
"They (Spurs) let me take him on loan and I'm glad he's here. He's a top player."
