QPR boss Redknapp still bristling over Liverpool Remy medical claims

QPR boss Harry Redknapp is still angry over the way Liverpool pulled out of their deal for new Chelsea signing Loic Remy.

Redknapp, who secured his first win of the season on Saturday against Sunderland, believes there should be a rule preventing clubs from suggesting players have failed medicals in the wake of the Remy affair.

He said: "I think that's a rule that needs to be changed.

"When there's a fee agreed and you have the medical, if you don't sign a player I don't think you should come out and say he has failed a medical. I think you should say you couldn't agree terms and you all move on.

"The medical side? You can finish people's careers in some cases."

Asked if Liverpool's decision had damaged QPR's bid to help the striker find a new club, Redknapp said: "I think it did really, it certainly didn't do us any favours. We've all done it though, I've done it [pulled out of a move for] a player when he had a medical.

"We've all done it. I'm not saying other clubs haven't done it and Liverpool are the only team who have done it.

"But I do think it's a rule that should be changed, it's something that should be looked at."
