QPR boss Harry Redknapp feels big money is working against English youth development.
Redknapp has ridiculed the filthy-rich culture that saw Sunderland's Connor Wickham recently spend £17,500 on a bottle of champagne.
Redknapp said: "We have had too many of them in the last few years, English kids who look great at a very young age and don't seem to kick on.
"I don't know whether it is the mentality, whether we get so much so early and then you see a kid the other week buying £17,500 worth of champagne - what is all that about?
"And if you're honest he wouldn't know an Asti Spumante from a ten grand bottle of bubbly would he? It is a load of cobblers, where we come from isn't it?
"We want to get away from that here. We want lads here who want to have a go for you. I need a group of players who will focus on football and give there all."
