QPR boss Redknapp says Remy goals making difference

QPR boss Harry Redknapp is delighted with the impact of January signing Loic Remy.

Remy's stunning record of scoring three goals from just 10 shots has earned him a recall to the France squad to face Spain in next week's World Cup qualifiers. And Redknapp admitted QPR's fate this season could rest on keeping both of them fit and firing.

He said: "With those two up front, it means you've got something in your team that says you can do some damage to the opposition. We can score, we can be a threat.

"Beforehand it was 0-0 and hanging on trying to nick a point, but if they can stay fit together, then that's great.

"There is nothing worse than when you're sitting there at 0-0 and they score and it is game over.

"I went through it a long time ago at West Ham. If we went 1-0 down, we might as well all have gone home because we had no strikers.

"I bought Paul Kitson and John Hartson in and suddenly we went on a run beating everybody, and every week they scored.

"Everyone needs their strikers. If you'd have taken Steven Fletcher out of Sunderland's team this year, or Christian Benteke out of Villa's team it would hurt. You're relying on strikers, really."
