QPR boss Redknapp says female manager could make it in Premier League

QPR boss Harry Redknapp feels a female manager can make it in the Premier League.

Redknapp says the improving standard of women's football will lead to an opportunity to coach in the professional men's game and sees no reason why women cannot fulfil the role.

Speaking on International Women's Day, Redknapp said: "Women's football is improving and I am sure they have got some outstanding coaches. At some level, of course, I can't see why it is impossible.

"When you look at women's football, the standard is amazing. It has gone through the roof. When you look at the Americans and Team GB at the Olympics, there is some real quality football played now so it is not impossible.

"We have got lots of managers now who have never played football who are very successful and great at their jobs. So there is no reason why one day you could not have a woman. It probably will not be in my lifetime but it is possible."
