QPR boss Harry Redknapp has scoffed at Brendan Rodgers' hopes of an all-Scouse Liverpool team.
He wrote in The Sun: "Brendan Rodgers wants more players 'sourced' from the area around Liverpool. Good luck.
"If that means he doesn't want Luis Suarez any more then great, we'll have him on a free transfer at QPR.
"It's a noble gesture and an admirable policy from the Liverpool manager but it isn't going to work and - even if it did - it would take years, so there's no chance of it happening.
"Especially when he has a Spanish goalkeeper, two foreign centre-halves, a Brazilian holding midfielder and a Uruguayan striker.
"It just won't happen ever again. Foreign players are giving us so much these days. Many of them are a pleasure to watch. They are also here to stay.
"Gone are the days of Alan Hansen, Ian Rush, Kenny Dalglish and Graeme Souness when Liverpool were the Guv'nors. There are now players from all around the world at Anfield."
