QPR boss Redknapp: Mourinho must keep Lampard, Terry at Chelsea

QPR boss Harry Redknapp feels Jose Mourinho needs to hang onto Chelsea's veterans to make his return a success.

Redknapp wrote in The Sun: "Jose will still have the bones of the team he left behind in 2007.

"In addition to Lampard, John Terry and Ashley Cole are still hugely influential figures at the club, on the pitch and off it.

"And in Cole they have one of the two best left-backs in the country.

"Cole and Everton's Leighton Baines are superb, excellent competitors. Cole still has two years left at the very top too.

"He has been written off several times but, in my opinion, hasn't lost any of his quality.

"If and when Jose walks back through the doors at Stamford Bridge, he will find a few friendly and familiar faces.

"And that will be the real foundation for him to build a new era at the club."
