QPR boss Redknapp hails England stars after victory over Brazil

QPR boss Harry Redknapp hailed the performance of Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney for England's victory over Brazil.

Redknapp was reacting to Neymar's claims that Rooney was the only world class player England possessed.

He told The Sun: "There was Manchester City No 1 Joe Hart's superb reactions at the penalty, while we now have arguably the two best left-backs in the world in Ashley Cole and Leighton Baines.

"At right-back, Liverpool's Glen Johnson continues to prove himself a top player and the midfield is strong, with Frank Lampard showing what an absolutely class player he is with his goal - not long after he had come into the game either.

"Steven Gerrard led them, Jack Wilshere was superb, Theo Walcott ripped Brazil to pieces with his pace and Wayne Rooney is a world-class striker. One-man team?

"That was a silly statement from Neymar to suggest we are. It came back to haunt him."
