QPR boss Harry Redknapp is delighted Adel Taarabt has been snubbed by Morocco for the African Nations Cup.

Morocco coach Rachid Taoussi stated that the reason he overlooked Taarabt was because he refused to meet him after travelling to London to see the playmaker.

Redknapp said: "I'm delighted, it's fantastic news. I thought he might be going but he's a talent when he plays like he does at Fulham. He can win games for you.

"I don't know what happened. I swear I haven't got a clue. I never discussed it with anybody.

"The first I knew about it was when I was driving in and heard on the radio that he hasn't been selected and I thought, 'Oh, that's good'."
