QPR boss Harry Redknapp has confirmed interest in Aston Villa striker Darren Bent.

Redknapp has expressed an interest in ­reuniting with the striker he managed during their time together at Tottenham.

With the transfer window reopening in January, Redknapp, who fell out with Bent after his glaring miss against Portsmouth in January 2009, said: "It's a lop-sided squad, we could do with a couple of front men.

"I like Darren, I've no problems with him. I just made a comment that maybe I shouldn't have, when I said I think my missus would have scored that."
