QPR boss Ramsey: Difficult day for the club

QPR boss Chris Ramsey admits defeat at Liverpool was overshadowed by the passing of Rio Ferdinand's wife.

Ferdinand's wife, Rebecca Ellisson, died on Friday night after a short battle with cancer.

QPR fell to a 2-1 defeat at Anfield, a result which dealt another blow to their Premier League survival hopes, but Ramsey insisted that his player's tragic loss put everything into perspective.

"It is an extremely difficult time for Rio and his family," Ramsey told reporters after the match. "It puts all this in its place."

"We would have liked to win today but thoughts are now with Rio. Hopefully his family can pull together after this untimely tragedy."
