QPR boss Hughes satisfied with point against Everton

QPR boss Mark Hughes was satisfied with their draw against Everton yesterday.

Bobby Zamora cancelled out Royston Drenthe's opener for Everton.

"I think we made it tough for them," he said. "We didn't allow them to play. I thought in terms of which team affected the game most, I think it was certainly the way we played.

"We were excellent in terms of closing people down and obviously trying to effect the game in a positive manner going the other way. It is obviously a difficult game against Everton and you know you're going to come under pressure in terms of their set play work.

"But apart from a few balls into the box and a couple of errors in poor areas, that was the only threat really. I am delighted with what we have produced. Ideally we would have preferred three points out of the game but, in terms of the manner of the performance, I am pleased with what we produced.

"It was important today we showed that we had a platform and kept 11 on the pitch and you saw a marked difference in the manner of our performance, which I knew we would. It has been difficult in recent weeks because you can't really effect the game when you have 10 men on the pitch whereas today I thought everybody put a shift in and was really up to the task.

"We need more than that from now until the end of the season. We deserved more because I thought we were the better team, but we will take a point because it is a start we can build on."
