QPR boss Mark Hughes hopes to close a deal for Lazio striker Djibril Cisse.

There had been suggestions the Italian club wanted QPR playmaker Adel Taarabt in exchange but that was denied by Hughes.

"No, there is no swap deal," he said.

"We are trying to work hard on a number of deals and obviously Djibril Cisse is a player that I have admired. He knows the Premier League and I think he would be good for us.

"It is difficult to conclude these deals and you are never sure until they are actually confirmed and have all the paperwork in front of you.

"We are not at that point yet with this one."
