QPR manager Mark Hughes believes a positive result at home to Wigan Athletic tomorrow will help push the club forward for the remainder of the season.
The R's have fallen into the drop zone following a solid beginning to the season and desperately require points to push away from the bottom of the table with Hughes hoping a winning performance over the Latics will kickstart a revival.
"It is not only this one but maybe the next six, seven or eight games, to be perfectly honest. They are key to how our season will progress.
"If we can get a positive result at the weekend then that will sustain us for the games we have ahead.
"We have a difficult run-in and we are mindful of that. We need to get points on the board.
"I think if we do that, that will obviously mean an improvement in performances and confidence.
"That will help us going into a difficult period against more accomplished teams in the Premier League.
"If we can start winning now, it will only help the boys.""We are all mindful of the significance of the game," said Hughes.
