QPR manager Mark Hughes has revealed his reasons for signing the likes of Andy Johnson and Ryan Nelsen.
The former Fulham striker and Tottenham defender respectively have joined the R's this off-season, and along with ex-West Ham United goalkeeper Robert Green, Hughes feels he has brought in some much-needed top flight experience to help his side, mainly away from Loftus Road.
"I've obviously worked with AJ (at Fulham) and Ryan (at Blackburn Rovers) before and I know they are two calming influences, with great leadership skills and quality, too.
"Rob is vastly experienced as well - with international pedigree.
"I'm sure we'll see other players at the other end of the age scale arriving at the club over the coming weeks. But it was vitally important we added some experience to the group this summer.""We were a little bit naive away from home last season," he told the club's official website.
