QPR manager Mark Hughes admits he may have to look at other options with potential defensive deals likely to fall over.
The R's have been heavily linked with summer moves for Real Madrid's Ricardo Carvalho and Tottenham's Michael Dawson but it appears as though the likelihood of those arrivals is not high.
Hughes is keen to get some defensive reinforcements to Loftus Road after conceding six goals in two games but says that the aforementioned pair may not be the answer.
"We will have a look at other options," said Hughes.
"There might be something which makes sense from our point of view, from a playing situation and a financial one, so we will have to wait and see."
