QPR boss Hughes keen to offload fringe players

QPR boss Mark Hughes admits he needs to shift several of his fringe players.

Luke Young, Tommy Smith (pictured), DJ Campbell and Rob Hulse are among those who are on their way after being left out of the pre-season tour to Asia and forced to train with the reserves.

Boss Hughes said: "It's fair to say that we can't carry as many players as we have done.

"A lot of players have left but a lot of players have come in. We have to get the numbers right and the balance right. We will continue to do that.

"It's about making sure the squad we finally end up with is a squad that can compete."
