QPR boss Mark Hughes insists on-loan Manchester United striker Kiko Macheda can have a role to play this season.

Macheda ranted on Twitter after being left out for the draw with Everton on Saturday.

When asked whether Macheda is still in his plans, the Rs boss said: "Yes if he applies himself.

"Everybody needs to do things correctly and make sure they're up for selection, which he was on Saturday.

"Unfortunately he missed out because I felt other players were a better option."
